I am a factory of dreams.

I dream a lot. When I was a kid I wanted to work in a factory like my parents. I read voraciously everything I could get my hands on too. I studied electronics and English. Wrote poetry and sketched illustrations. After I went to technical school, I finally was hired for my dream job: a radio repairman in an electronics factory. While I was working in the factory I wrote for the local paper and taught myself film photography. I experimented with computers and wrote my first ebook before Amazon had even thought of Kindle Publishing But I clocked in at the plant every day with new dreams of working with words and pictures.

I am a writer and photographer

In 2006 I left the factory and went back to finish my undergraduate degree. I started writing for IU Kokomo in the marketing and communications office where I also did photography and graphic design. Applied and was accepted to a Master’s program at Ball State University called Digital Storytelling. In the last couple of years I helped start and still contribute to a local news site, The Kokomo Lantern as a writer, photographer, and podcast producer.

I am a filmmaker

In 2013 I had one of my co-produced films showcased by the prestigious Chicago Children’s International Film Festival. In 2024 I developed and produced 6 various podcasts for The Kokomo Lantern, 60 episodes in all.

I teach and I write a lot.

Writing and teaching are my main two activities right now. Working with IU Kokomo I am writing micro-credential short courses to be taught face-to-face to various business and industry professionals. Along with my regular business and public speaking courses I am involved in IU Kokomo’s KEY program (Kokomo Experience and You) and have worked with IGNITE Your Future camp for middle and high school students who are interested in going on to college.
